Welcome to a Redux

snohomish then and now
Then: November 1971, the first meeting of council members under the new council/manager form.

city council 2016
Now: December 2016, Council members Lynn Schilaty, Zach Wilde, Michael Rohrscheib, Karen Guzak, Derrick Burke, Dean Randall, and Tom Hamilton are not smiling as they are squeezed between state law and demands from proponents of Prop 2 to change city government back to the mayor/council form. The proposition won by 11 votes.

For seven years, beginning in 2007, I wrote the monthly blog, Snohomish Then and Now that was also published in the Snohomish County Tribune. In 2014, I archived the Then-and-Now blog to begin a new one titled, Snohomish Stories. If that’s the site you’re expecting — it has moved to SnohomishStories.org.

But before you click yourself away, please know that this site is the new home for six years of archived Then-and-Now stories, that I am in the process of up-dating using a responsive design making the content mobile friendly.

Come spring, the old-fashioned site, using the trusty Thesis Theme, will be deleted — you may pay your respects here!

My intention is tell the stories of the people involved then-and-now in order to give our current situation some historical context. My hope is that you, dear reader, will be motivated to join the discussion below; and, because I live with Karen Guzak you should know where by heart will be in this discussion.
